This is the evergreen PIKO Track Cleaning vehicle with a modern British twist. Fitted with NEM tension lock couplings, this vehicle is hauled around your layout and dust is collected by the track cleaning pads mounted underneath the wagon.
This wagon is actually HO Scale so it is in no way prototypical but will be an essential part of keeping your track clean. A replacement cleaning pad can be purchased under reference GM 4930101 or PK56115 both of which we normally stock – please email or phone for replacement pads.
The Wagon has NEM Close Coupling Mounts – Hornby/Bachmann style couplings are supplied but these can of course be easily changed.
Apart from the Dapol & LUX motorised Track Cleaning Wagons very few “Track Cleaning Wagons” will clean dirty track. However, these wagons as well as the Piko & Roco Branded Wagons will help to keep clean track clean.
TIP :
Remove & retain the pad springs & just allow the weight of the pad to rest on the track – the wagon will require less tractive power, be kinder to the track & the pads will last longer.
